New version

Hi!

We currently have an old version of Urban Turtle installed on our TFS-server. I would like to know if there are any possibilities to host the new version of UT parallel to the old version. I ask because I don’t want to break the current working version of UT as we use it on an everyday basis. Any thoughts on this matter?

Kind regards/

    Hi Zebastian,

Unfortunately, there is no way to run two version of Urban Turtle in parallel on the same TFS server. Here at Pyxis, we have test and production environment in a pool of virtual machines. We can test Urban Turtle on machine specifically dedicated for it and we can snapshot a production machine before we upgrade Urban Turtle.

I strongly recommend upgrading to the latest version of 2010 or 2012 (depending on your version of TFS server) since the latest versions of Urban contains useful new features and bug fixes. If you want to upgrade Urban Turtle 2012, just make sure that you have the Update 1 version of TFS since the latest version is incompatible with TFS RTM. Also, make sure that you have a backup of your configuration mapping files before you upgrade since they are overwritten during the upgrade.

    Hope this helps.
