How does Turtle make use of the TFS team field

Hi Bas,

Since this field is a custom field that you need to add to your process template, it would be really hard for us take make a feature out of it. Our client could make random thing with this that we could not anticipate.

It is schedule in future releases to do something with the tags mechanic that TFS implemented in 2013, but I don’t have any date for you yet.

Hi Vincent, since I am now working for another team within the organisation, the team field becomes more important. They have defined one iteration in TFS for all teams and TFS uses the team field to filter out the appropiate work items. In this case I cannot use the Turtle and this is quite disappointing. Isn't there a way you can 'fix' this so I can still use the Turtle ..?

What version of TFS are you using? It seems we will have to implement different behaviors between TFS 2015 and TFS 2013.

The difficulty we have right now is that we cannot get the default team field value for TFS 2013. The only value we are able to get is the Global Team Field value and not the one defines in the Project Team itself.

We will have a new filter feature for the Team Field in the next version (5.4). We will let you know when it's released.

It's a work in progress, but for now you will be able to:

• filter by the team filed in the Product Backlog (like the iteration or area)
• filter by the team field in the Sprint Backlog 

There is a known issue right now in Urban Turtle for TFS 2013. When you add a work item on an unfiltered Product Backlog, the default Team Field value won't be applied because we are unable to get the information from TFS.

When this is out, I'd like to hear from you and talk about the next steps regarding the Team Field.

We are waiting for TFS 2015 Update 2 to be release for our next release. It should happen in the next few days.

We have release in version 5.4 some Beta features for the Team Field. If you have the chance to try those, we'd really appreciate some feedback.

When using a Global Team Field:

• On the product backlog a new "filter" is now available on the left panel. It can be used just like the Iterations and Areas. 
• On the sprint backlog / custom board a new team filter has been added, that will filter the information for this specific.

This Global Team Field is still in Beta mode on our side; functionalities are still missing or need rework. Like the print and tree view in the backlog does not take the team in account.

Hi, we have nog installed the version with the team field. Looking good :) Seems like the dashboard has some issues with this feature. Might be an option to set the configuration on a more central place instead on the backlog screen. Nice job though!

Guys, it looks like the team field is not working correct in the dashboard. For example, when I use the velocity chart it counts the velocity of all teams combined. Is this something you reconize? Hope this is easy to fix! Thanks!

Hi Bas, 

We didn't receive a lot of request from customers for more integration of the Team field, so that's why we are slow to incorporate more work into our backlog. 

Still, I've added a story to improve the dashboard when using the Team Field. In fact, as a 1st step, we need to add the team field in the Burndowns (hours & story points) and the velocity chart. I'll see with my team if it's something that we can do easily.

Has there been any headway made into including the option to make the Team option work in the dashboard?

We do use the Team field since we practice SAFe and have multiple Teams working on our product.

Also are there any plans for allowing the Team selection in the Stand-up view?

That would be VERY helpful for us since we separate Areas/Projects y Teams and would need to see only specific Teams Burndowns; not all of them together.
